SMS Terms of Service
Program disclosures for our text messaging program, in compliance with the A2P 10DLC framework administered by The Campaign Registry (TCR).
1. Program Description
Richter Tax & Advisory, LLC (the "Firm") sends SMS and MMS text messages to current and prospective clients who have provided prior express written consent. Messages relate to scheduling and appointment reminders, document-receipt confirmations, secure portal links, status updates on tax engagements, billing notifications, and other administrative communications related to services the recipient has engaged the Firm to provide. The Firm does not send substantive tax advice by text message. The Firm does not send marketing or promotional text messages without separate, specific consent.
2. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the nature and timing of the recipient's engagement with the Firm.
3. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and service plan.
4. How to Opt In
Recipients provide prior express written consent to receive text messages from the Firm by:
- Signing an engagement letter that contains an electronic communications consent provision;
- Checking the SMS consent box on the Firm's website opt-in form at https://www.richtertax.com;
- Completing a standalone written or electronic consent form; or
- Any other method approved by the Firm that creates an auditable record of consent.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any service from the Firm or of becoming or remaining a client.
5. How to Opt Out
Recipients may revoke consent at any time and through any reasonable means. The Firm honors the following keywords as explicit revocation requests when sent in reply to any Firm text message:
STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE
Recipients may also revoke consent by reply email to drichter@richtertax.com, by telephone to 1-646-531-6825, or by any other clear communication to the Firm. The Firm processes revocation requests within ten (10) business days.

Reply HELP to any Firm text message, or contact the Firm at drichter@richtertax.com or 1-646-531-6825.
7. Carrier Liability
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered text messages.
8. Privacy of Opt-In Data
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services. For our complete privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Sample Messages
The following are examples of the types of messages we send through our approved texting program:
- "Richter Tax & Advisory: Reminder of your appointment with Daniel Richter on Tue 3/12 at 2:00 PM. Reply C to confirm or call 1-646-531-6825 to reschedule. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- "Richter Tax & Advisory: We've received the documents you uploaded to the portal. We'll follow up by email with next steps. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- "Richter Tax & Advisory: Your secure document is ready. Sign in to the portal here: https://portal.richtertax.com. Do not share this link. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- "Richter Tax & Advisory: An invoice for your recent engagement is now available in the client portal. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
10. No Tax Advice by Text
Text messaging is a short-form medium and is not appropriate for substantive tax advice. The Firm does not send specific tax advice, tax planning recommendations, interpretation of tax law as applied to a client's facts, Social Security numbers, Taxpayer Identification Numbers, account numbers, refund amounts, or specific dollar figures attributable to a client by text message. Substantive communications are handled by email, secure client portal, telephone, or in-person meetings.
11. Changes to These Terms
The Firm may update these SMS Terms of Service from time to time. The current version is always available at https://richtertax.com/sms-terms.html. Material changes will be communicated to active recipients before taking effect.
